The Declaration of Interdependence — Anno Domini 2025

When in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for the people of Earth to reimagine their bonds one with another, and to assert not independence, but interdependence, a decent respect to the opinions of humankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to this recognition.

We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all beings are created equal in dignity, born into a shared world, endowed not only with unalienable Rights, but with unshakable Responsibilities — among these are Compassion, Stewardship, and Solidarity.

That to secure these ends, Societies are instituted among People, deriving their just powers not from wealth or might, but from the consent of the interconnected — and that whenever any economy, institution, or ideology becomes destructive of these ends, it is the right of the people, and indeed their solemn duty, to reform it.

The history of our present condition is a history of collective forgetting — forgetting that no child thrives alone, no forest stands without root, no soul endures in isolation. We have been told that independence is the summit of strength, when in truth it is connection that sustains us.

The Earth groans beneath our consumption. Inequity festers within our markets. Minds strain under the weight of algorithmic overload. Hearts falter in the absence of belonging. Democracies waver, truth is traded, and the commons is pillaged. These are not the signs of liberty fulfilled, but of kinship denied.

We, therefore, the people of Earth — diverse in nation, thought, and tongue, yet united in spirit — do, in the year 2025, solemnly declare and publish this Declaration of Interdependence:

That we are not islands, but archipelagos — bound by invisible bridges of breath, blood, soil, and hope.

That no economy is just which serves profit over people, nor is any progress true that leaves the most vulnerable behind.

That mental and emotional well-being is not a luxury, but a foundation; and every person deserves safety not only in body, but in spirit.

That democracy must evolve to include every voice, especially those long silenced, and to reckon with truth over convenience.

That we shall care for our planet not as owners, but as temporary stewards; and that we shall measure success not by growth alone, but by balance, healing, and shared joy.

In witness whereof, we pledge to one another our support, our cooperation, and our will. Let no nation rise by the fall of another. Let no wealth be hoarded at the cost of planetary ruin. Let no human be discarded, unseen, or unheard.

We affirm that our futures are braided. Our destinies are shared. Our liberation is collective.

So say we all.

Signed,

The Members of United Strength
